Letter, 1788 June 1, Philadelphia, [Pa.], to [Mather Byles, Boston, Mass.].

Handwritten copy of original letter in which Franklin writes "I wish for your sake that electricity had really proved what at first it was supposed to be, a cure for the palsy" and describes how he also has a daughter who is "the comfort of my declining years, while my son is estranged from me by the part he took in the late war". Transcribed by "F.A."
